Baby shopping: 4-8 months

Rania began eating solids around 4 months, at her pediatrician's recommendation. Transitioning to solids is much easier with the right tools. Here are some items that we loved. I hope you find them useful! I've also posted about newborn items (for mommy and baby) and 1-3-months. Check back later this week when I will post about 9-12 month baby items and a super awesome contest!

Bibs - Plain old cloth bibs get dirty quickly when eating solids and are impossible to clean. I love these Bumpkins bibs, they are waterproof and huge! I simply rinse them after each meal and they last forever!

Baby Bullet - I prefer to make the baby food myself because I get to control exactly what goes into it. Sure, I could make it with a blender. But the Baby Bullet makes the baby food smoother and it's easier to clean.

If you do decide to make your own baby food, check out the Wholesome Baby Food website. It is filled with tips and tricks.

Spoons - I feed Rania out of our regular bowls, no special colorful bowls here. However, I do use baby spoons. They are smaller and easier on her gums. I found these Munchkin spoons are a good size and they're super cheap. The handles are long and they are pretty stain resistant.

eating.

Highchair - If you have the space, a highchair is a great investment. Rania enjoys seating in her high chair and eating finger food or being fed. I like how easy it is to clean and the multiple trays. The fabric does seem to make her feel hot though unfortunately.

Exersaucer - Our little one started to sit up properly during this period, so it was the perfect time for an exersaucer. She love the toys and music on her Baby Einstein Discovery Center. It was relatively easy to put together and is super cute. She'll sit in it for 15-30 minutes, allowing me precious time clean up around the house or to go to the bathroom.  She still plays with it, at 13 months. Hooray! It does, however take up a ton of space.

Is there anything I missed? Are there items that you or baby couldn't live without during this period? Leave me a comment, I'd love to hear from you!!
