I love watching the changing of the seasons. The subtle color and weather changes creep up on you, until one day you suddenly realize it's winter. Winter is long and hard in Upstate NY. It lasts approximately 6 months. After the first snowfall of the season you marvel at how everything looks pristine and beautiful. After the 52463th snowfall, you simply groan and pull out the snow shovel. As you can imagine, spring is highly anticipated up here. However, the signs that spring have arrived are a little different:
* A temperature above freezing most of the day
* Local burger and icecream shops open for the season
* Less than a foot of snow on my yard
* The cupcake trucks start driving through the neighborhood again
Green leaves and flowers you say? This ain't Hawaii!

ReplyDeleteNext time you come visit, I'll get you one! Sadly, their cupcakes are mediocre at best. Dry cake and overly sweet toppings. Nothing like "Sweet". Alas!
