Happy Half Birthday Rania!

My dearest Rania,

You entered our lives six months ago after a long and arduous struggle. I remember when they first placed you in my arms. I was at once struck by how beautiful you were. You were so tiny and fragile. You slept peacefully as I cooed over you. Little did we know how monumentally all of our lives would be changed.

I spend every moment of every day with you. We play, eat, sleep, and read together. I watch as you discover the world around you. Everything is new and exciting to you. It continually amazes me how quickly you learn new skills. You are like a little sponge, quickly taking in everything. Whenever we go somewhere new, like the grocery store or a friend's home, you curiously look around  mystified. Your eyes never stopping.

Your eyes are my favorite part of you. You stare into my eyes, lovingly, then give me the most beautiful smile. You recognize me and your dad now. Your sweet, gummy smiles reserved for us. Whenever you smile at me, I melt. Keep smiling baby. It's only going to get better!
