Makeup Makeover

As a South Asian woman, I always have a difficult time finding makeup that matches my skin tone perfectly. Too red and I look like ghost, too yellow and I looked like I got a spray tan. It is a frustrating and pricey endeavor.Thankfully, I've found a slew of products in the past few years that work for my skin tone. I'm sharing them in the hopes that they will help you too.

Light to Medium Coverage

Clinque Moisture Sheer Tint SPF 15 is a light tinted moisturizer that's perfect for everyday. I used the "Beige" color. ($27, Department Stores)
tarte Smooth Operator, my
current fav foundation

Almay Pure Blends Liquid Makeup SPF 20 is slightly thicker foundation that provides light coverage. Not well suited for people with oily skin. Almay appears to be phasing this line out, which is shame because I loved that I could actually pronounce the ingredients in this product. ($5-$10, Drugstores)
tarte Smooth Operator Tinted Moisturizer is a medium coverage tinted moisturizer, which is paraben and phthalate free. It's made with natural ingredients like Almay, however it's pricey given the size (1.7 fl oz). I'm currently using this, in the Agent 12 shade which I love. However, I would suggest topping this with a loose powder as it can leave your face shiny. ($38, Sephora)
MAC Select SPF 15 Moisturizer is a medium coverage foundation, which is buildable. It's great for day and evening wear. ($27, Department Stores)

Heavy Coverage

MAC Mineralize Foundation is a medium-heavy compact foundation. This is great for photos and special events. It's rather heavy feeling, so I wouldn't suggest it for daily wear. This product is also pricey for the size (.35 oz). ($33, Department Stores)
Bobbi Brown Moisturizing Cream Compact Foundation is a full coverage foundation. It's build-able, so there's no need for concealer. It's the heaviest feeling product of the lot and the most expensive, but it provides excellent coverage. Apply it with a wet sponge and smooth with your hands for a more natural look. ($42, Department Store)

Random Other Products

Foundation Brush I love this brush by Ulta. This is the key to smooth looking foundation.($18, Ulta)
MAC Studio Finish Concealer SPF 35 is excellent build-able concealer. I use it on blemishes and under eye circle. It's like magic! ($17, Department Stores)
Clinique Superbalm Moisturizing Gloss comes in great colors and isn't sticky. I love the Raspberry color, it's great for summer!  ($14, Department Stores)

Please note I am not receiving any sort of compensation for endorsing these products. I simply love them. Tell me about the beauty products you love.
