Valentine's Day

I admit it, I love Valentine's Day. I'm a sucker for chocolate and romance. When we first got married, we would go to a fancy restaurant and have a long romantic dinner for Valentine's Day. I'd plan his gift weeks in advance, usually making him something.

This year, I ran to Target on Thursday with a sleeping baby in tow. I quickly picked out some small gifts to throw into a gift basket for him. Thankfully, he liked the random mix of items. (Who knew that he'd like a box of tea, a Dr. Seuss book, and a movie more than a hand painted box filled with homemade Bounty bars?)

We went out for an late lunch on Sunday, to avoid the crowds. The baby smiled and cooed until the food arrived. Then of course, she began to wail like a dying cat. I rushed off to the restroom to change her, only to find that the fancy restaurant didn't have a changing table. I found a nearby table to change her and rushed back to my waiting husband. He offered to hold her while I ate. I watched as he cuddled and cooed to her. She fell asleep in his arms. I loved him more at that moment than I ever had.

It was the best Valentine's Day ever.
